Caring for Your Copper

Copper is a living metal—it reacts to the environment and the skin, which means it will naturally develop a unique patina over time. I see this as part of the beauty of the piece; it shows that the metal is "breathing" and evolving with you.

To maintain your piece:

  • The Patina: If you love the darkened, "lived-in" look, simply wear your piece often! Your natural oils will keep it protected.

  • Restoring the Shine: If you prefer a brighter look, gently rub the copper with a soft polishing cloth. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, as these can strip away the unique texture I’ve hammered into the surface.

  • Storage: When you aren't wearing your pieces, store them in a cool, dry place. A small cloth pouch works perfectly.

  • A Note on Skin: It is completely normal for copper to leave a temporary, harmless green tint on your skin. This is simply a reaction between the copper and your body’s pH. It washes off easily with soap and water and is a sign that the metal is pure and reactive.
