Where the Story Began (Our Root Story)
A Love Fused in Glass
-In October of 2011, a black German Shepherd with one perfectly upright ear and one endearing flopped ear came into my world. His name was Kyro.
He wasn't just my first dog; he was my fierce protector,
my shadow, and the anchor that held me steady
through many difficult chapters of my life.
Kyro was entirely devoted to keeping me safe. He had a big personality—vocalizing a protective 'don't touch my mama!' rumble whenever someone hugged me, or even came too close. He was highly intuitive, too. While he was deeply skeptical of most men, the moment Drew stepped into our lives, Kyro knew instantly that he was a good, safe soul. Kyro filled our days with joy, constantly carrying around his signature red collar and a red jolly ball that he proudly, hilariously inherited from alpacas where he used to be boarded by a dear friend.
When Kyro passed away in 2021, the quiet in the studio was heavy. I desperately needed a way to keep his bright, protective spirit woven into my daily life. I didn't want something that would sit tucked away in a velvet box or satin pouch; I wanted a piece of art that could travel with me.
That longing is where this entire collection was born. I crafted his memorial pendant to accompany me where he loved being most—hanging from the rearview mirror for open-window car rides, and resting gently on the branches of the Christmas tree when the holidays bring his absence a little closer to the heart. It was this deep comfort of keeping his memory close that helped me heal, eventually welcoming Ginger and Clover into our lives before making our big move to Minnesota in the late summer of 2022, followed by sweet Louie who joined our pack in 2023.

The Story & Elements of Kyro’s Pendant
To show how a companion’s unique personality shapes their custom piece,
this was how Kyro’s memory came to life:
To start, I used a piece of black glass as the base to reflect the dark, striking coat of my German Shepherd. I carefully placed his ashes onto the glass using a special heat-safe adhesive to hand-sculpt a delicate pawprint, then added gold mica powder to capture the warm "golden eyes" that always looked not just at me, but straight into my soul. I complemented the black and gold with a touch of red glass frit, honoring his bright red collar and his favorite jolly ball. Finally, the piece was capped with a clear glass canopy and finished with a diamond glaze coat for a brilliant, protective finish.
💜 A Legacy of Adventure
To show how human stories can also guide the design, this custom pendant was crafted for a friend to honor her mother’s vibrant spirit. Like Kyro, her mother absolutely lived for car rides and open-road adventures.
To honor her, I started with a piece of rich black glass as a strong, timeless base. At the heart, I shaped vibrant purple glass frit into a central heart and seamlessly woven it with a touch of red glass frit—beautifully representing each of their favorite colors bound together. After embedding her mother’s ashes safely under a clear glass canopy, the finished pendant now hangs gently from the rearview mirror, ensuring her mother is present for every single road trip and new adventure ahead.
